Along The Banks of the Finley River!

Ozark was first settled in 1883 along the banks of the Finley River. The original bridge was long removed and the current bridge is in it's place. To read more about the history of Ozark, click here.

Further north of the Finley River Bridge is one of Southwest Missouri's oldest restaurants, Riverside Inn.

The bridge at Riverside Inn was a learning experience for one of my children. Coming home late one evening, she crossed over the bridge, in the fog, after a heavy rain and suddenly found herself floating down the river. Quick thinking, she was able to swim out before her car went under water. Once we fished the car out, she had to drive it, mildew smell and all!
